Hey check out this article in the Livonia Observer about the 2011

lot of buzz and bringing attention to Madonna's BCA program!

Hey guys, I know it's been a while since I've updated the site
(school's been crazy for me lately). But enough excuses, make sure you
come to tonight's club meeting at 7 pm, after TV class. Don't forget,
it's Crazy Hat Night! Whoever has the craziest hat wins a prize! Also,
see our Student Life Representative Ashley Benton for "We Can Win"
raffle tickets. Remember, the majority of the money made from these
tickets goes directly to the club!

Last night at the club meeting, we elected our new Member at Large. We
proudly welcome Kevin Connor to the BFC board! Our next meeting is
Wednesday, October 12th at 7 pm (right after TV class). Remember, if you
haven't paid your $10 membership fee, see our Secretary Angela Keller.

Sorry for the lack of updates, it's been a busy time! Well school's
back, and so are Broadcast and Film Club meetings! The first meeting of
the semester is Wednesday, September 14, 2011. We encourage all
newcomers to come to meetings! It's a great way to meet people in the
department (plus, you get a T-shirt and free food!) Dues for the year
are only $10, so whether you're a returning member or a newcomer we
hope to see you next Wednesday!

Madonna's 5th PAH-Fest Motown 2011 came to a close tonight, and what a
week it was! We got to watch some videos from Madonna alumi and
students alike on Tuesday (after an amazing barbecue!) We had some
awesome kids from Vanguard CDC participate in our contests (and they
even won a few!) There were three panels with experts from the film
industry, giving out invaluable information. Biker Cat even made his
first appearance in Motown! It was a great week, for veterans and
newcomers alike! If you missed the closing ceremonies, check them out
on USTREAM!

PAH-Fest Motown 2011 is nearing an end. This has kept all of us busy,
but thankfully we had "The Gray Zone" to vlog the events throughout the
week! The closing ceremonies, as always, will be held in Kresge Hall at
7 pm. Come join us to watch the winning films, where recent Madonna
graduate Sara Simnitch (now a member of the Channel 9 & 10 News team) will be our MC! If you would like to watch the films in advance, click here!

The BFC made its debut at the Livonia Spree, and we managed to make quite a splash!

Between filming patrons at the Spree, to unofficial "karaoke", we
definately spread the word around, both about Madonna and the BCA
department!
(The line of tents, set up just outside of the Eddie Edgar Ice Arena)
We plan to do this tent every June when the Spree comes around, so make
sure that you volunteer to help out with the tent if you're interested
in getting involved with the BFC, promoting Madonna, and having a good
time!

This year, the Broadcast and Film Club will have its own booth at the Livonia Spree!
For those of you who don't know, the Livonia Spree is an annual
carnival here in Livonia, located at the corner of Farmington and
Lyndon. It is only about a 5 minute drive from Madonna, so it's right
nearby!
The booth will be open:
Saturday, June 25th. 10 AM to 5 PM
Sunday, June 26th. 10 AM to 5 PM
We will need BFC members to help man the booth.
Contact Paula Wilson (pwilson606@my.madonna.edu) or Kary Feick
(kfeick@my.madonna.edu) if you would like to volunteer! Volunteers
would work in pairs and shifts would range from 2-3 hours. But any time
you can donate at all helps! Please wear a BFC shirt if you have it, or
a Madonna shirt. This will be a great opprotunity to promote both the
Capstone class's upcoming film "Clayman", as well as PAH-fest Motown
and Madonna in general. Hope to see you there!

Bridge Camp 2011 is coming up! For those of you who don't know, Bridge
Camp is a fun event in which BCA members help 6 teams of kids make
their own movie!
-Monday,
June 20th from 9:00-11:30 AM in Room S200 (in the Franciscan Center).
Filming will be on Monday, after a brief introduction with the kids.

We will also be meeting on Wednesday, June 15th from 9:00-11:30 AM to edit the films with the kids.
This is a great opportunity to get involved with the Broadcast and Film Club, so don't miss out!

MC for PAH-Fest Motown! PAH-Fest Motown will run July 11th-17th. The
closing ceremonies will take place in Kresge Hall at 7:00pm, on Sunday,
