| About Us |

We’re a student organization dedicated to creating professional Radio, Television, and Cinema productions in a fun atmosphere consistent with and in support of the mission of Madonna University. Our goal is to enhance the skills and portfolios of our members by encouraging them to contribute their individual talents to the club’s various productions and activities. In addition, we promote an atmosphere of camaraderie and networking between our students, alumni, and professionals in the industry. It’s recommended that all BCA (Broadcast and Cinema Arts) majors become active members, but any interested Madonna student is welcome to join.

Meet in the Franciscan Center TV Studio

Meetings are every other week, following TV practice shows (not actual production nights)

Impression from Nora Shkodra
- Past President of Broadcast and Film Club -

When I first went to Madonna, I was very interested in joining the Broadcast Club. I was voted a vice-president right-away. I was very happy and couldn’t wait till next year so I could run for president. I have to admit that since I was an international student, at first I hesitated to do so. Professor Chuck Derry encouraged me to run. So I did; and I won. That’s when my adventures begun.

I was heavily involved with the Emmy Award winner documentary of the life of Pablo Davis that the previous presidents have started and never got to finish. I organized meeting twice a week and helped with production and post production as much as I could. I took it upon myself to finish this project that lasted for years, and I did it. I tried encouraging everyone to work as much as possible, and it would have never been done without everybody’s help. That was definitely the highlight of my presidency. After the project was done, there was the screening of Pablo Davis documentary, and it turned out to be a very successful night.

I also organized a NATAS meeting, a day that ended up being simply amazing. We learned a lot, had fun and got to meet some important faces that later helped me get my internship at Channel 7 Action News. Being president of MU Broadcast Club was a tough but very fulfilling position. I learned a lot and got involved in so many events and productions that otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to. Although it was time consuming, it definitely paid off. My resume got more and more impressive each time that I got involved with any event. I believe I owe my current job to Broadcast Club; because the owner was really impressed with all the curricular activities that I had done while at Madonna.

If you are a member of Broadcast Club, don’t ever stop being part of it, even if it seems like it’s getting overwhelming at times. You will create some of your best memories of your school year.
